Johnnycake Jog

Today I photographed the 34th Annual Johnnycake Jog in Mentor, OH.  This jogs major sponsor and original creator is the News-Herald.  Since they have been doing this for 34 years, the coverage has to be grand and tomorrow's paper is the Johnnycake Jog edition.  Since I am the intern, I got placed on this job for today.  My job was to photograph the start from the pace truck and get off at the hill a mile into the race and get them coming up the hill.  After I got those shots, I walked down the street and a bit and got up on a construction truck to get an overall of the whole road.  This race had over 1000 runners in it.  The sheer length of people was seen for the span of the road I was on.  After the race, I was trying to focus and photograph different moments of exhaustion, recovery, and relaxation.  Really amazing to see the dynamic of a large regional race.
