Knee Transplant

I had the chance to place myself in the life of Rebecca today while shooting a health feature going into this weeks paper.  Rebecca had a nasty boating accident in 2008 which shattered her knee and left her with two years in pain.  Earlier this summer, a knee replacement donor came up and Rebecca went into surgery in early June.  The surgery went successfully and through this rare transplant procedure, Rebecca is on the road to walking again without the pain she experienced before.  After a year of recovery, Rebecca hopes to be able to walk again and be able to carry out her daily activities as she remembered them before the boating accident.
