News Herald - First Day

Today was my first day at The News Herald.  Today I learned all the in's and out's of how to find assignments online, shoot them, edit them, publish them, and archive them.  Another cool thing about my first day is my first assignment.  I had the opportunity to photograph Detective Colleen Petro for her recognition as a child advocate for 2009.  She was chosen by the Lake County Job and Family Services.  As for the first assignment.  I think I did well trying to show her advocacy.  Photographed her during the interview then took her outside for a formal portrait then back inside for another formal portrait.  My photo editor liked this photo below and so did I.

Tomorrow, I will be shooting 1-2 assignments and learning more about the workflow.  Here's to a long, exciting summer ahead of me!

Mentor Police Detective Colleen Petro is a children's advocate.  Petro was named by the Lake County Job and Family Services as the 2009 Child Advocate of the Year for her work with foster children and others.
